ahahahah my cousin got me into this back in the late 1990's and when he first mentioned it I laughed, made a few disparraging comments of his choice of viewing Tongue.........then noticed sky one was playing the eps, so I started watching...and after a couple of eps, was hooked!..........

I was recently given the dvd box sets for my birthday.....so after much ridicule and sneery grins from him indoors...yup...he's now hooked on Buffy the Vampire Slayer!!!!!!!! LOL....

every night after tea, its the same convo..."Ummm ......are we watching some Buffy then?"

i grin to myself and press play Wink ahahahah

Indeed...

I'll stick my neck out (pardon the pun-lol) and say I think Buffy is far better than this twighlight saga......Buffy was before her time....if they ran it again Im sure it would find a whole new host of fans...

Yeh Angel was dark and moody but Spike is kind of dangerous with a glint in his eye Wink

Speaking of Buffy and Twilight, this video is AMAZING and exactly how the Twilight vamps should be handled :-)

I've been catching a lot of Angel lately and I quite like it! I was a hardcore Charmed fan from '98 to when it ended ^^

As I said in the sci-fi thread (with added spoiler alert)...

Not really sci-fi, but I'm a huge Buffy fan. Not into the "moody goth" style of vampires (gimme the Nietzschean beasts of "30 Days Of Night" over these poncing little squirts anyday!) but Buffy just had spot on writing, managed to combine humour, teen growing pains type drama, real pathos with a bit of horror.

***spoiler***don't read on if you haven't seen all series yet***

I reckon the treatment of the death of Buffy's mother was one of the best depictions of the banal horror of real loss I've ever seen on TV.

Yeah just watched the sing a long Buffy last night! so bizzare and funny.... :-)

re Buffy's mum's death, yeah......the writing is fantastic...I defy anyone to not shed a tear or two watching that one.... omgosh...

Joss Whedon was definitely before his time with Buffy...I would have thought a re-launch would go down a bomb right now....tbh.....it doesn't really look dated at all either....the character interactions are priceless at times, with the lightening quick come-backs etc...lol so very funny.... :-))

FYI HMV have reduced the box sets to about £16 a series now, too.... we have series 6 and 7 to get yet....

Not sure what we are going to watch when we have finished Buffy.....My other half has mooted maybe getting "Medium" and I have suggested the X Files.....again with the good charicter interaction, especially the lone gunmen :-) hehe....

I was totally into buffy back in the day and had the collectors edition dvd boxsets of buffy and angel. But im afraid to say i bowed down to peer pressure and sold them DOH!

Very good series. And I agree the one where buffys mum dies is phenomenal. Esp Anya's reaction. Very emotional. And very well handled.

As for the musical episode [Once More With Feeling] Spike singing - yummm!

Does anyone else have an unhealthy attraction to giles? eek!  sign0085

"So not into Giles....Well.....kinda not into the sqelchy smoochies with Giles anyways"

Spike is my hottie....."Spikey, my boy"......the big bad...

help!!! watching too many eps and now speaking like a cast member! roflmao  Embarrassed Undecided hee20hee20hee
